Entry requirements scrapped

The country recently dropped all entry requirements that were originally introduced to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, neither testing nor health forms are necessary for travellers wishing to visit the country.

According to Travelnews, before this change, Mexico’s COVID-related regulations for arrivals consisted of only a mandatory online health questionnaire, Fly Safe, for both international and domestic flights. The completed form would then generate a QR code which travellers could scan at Mexican airports.

Visitors will now no longer need to fill out the Fly Safe form, making entry to the country as easy as during pre-pandemic times.

Some popular tourism areas in Mexico will, however, require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to allow entry to indoor venues such as bars, restaurants, concerts and stadiums. Some states also have these requirements in place for people checking into hotels and shopping at supermarkets and malls.

Mexico: A top travel destination

Mexico continues to be a top travel destination for tourists worldwide. The country has an alluring mix of incredible culture, gorgeous beaches, colonial architecture, ancient ruins and delicious cuisine. With all that and more, the country also has the added benefit of being very affordable. Well priced hotels, restaurants and activities all contribute to the fact that Mexico is indeed a travel destination of choice for many.
