Lightning struck atop the 100-foot statue of Jesus Christ over Rio de Janeiro recently during a storm that hit the coast of Brazil.

The photos have gone viral and are giving chills globally. The bolt of flash struck the head of the statue on February 10 and turned the sculpture into a godly figure.

While it is a well-known fact that Christ the Redeemer statue, located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has been struck by lightning several times, it is not often that suck breathtaking photos capture the moment.
Despite the damage, the statue remains one of the most iconic landmarks in Brazil. It attracts millions of visitors annually, who come to admire its beauty and pay homage to its religious significance.

The Christ the Redeemer statue, also known as Cristo Redentor in Portuguese, is a symbol of Christianity and one of the most iconic landmarks in Brazil.
The statue stand 30 meters tall and was built on the top of Corcovado Mountain in Rio de Janeiro. It was completed in 1931 and has become one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world.
