Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts returns this March

The ever-popular Summer Sunset Concerts returns to the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in Cape Town this March!

The much-loved Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts are back for two shows only! Cape Town-born singer-songwriters Jimmy Nevis and Jeremy Loops will be performing a week apart. Nevis is set to perform on Sunday 20 March and Loops will be performing on Sunday 27 March.

The Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts are one of Cape Town’s most exciting music events. The concerts have been taking place on Sunday afternoons for more than two decades. It’s a time when family and friends can bond over a picnic and amazing music.  

The likes of AKA, GoodLuck, Tresor, Lady Zamar, Sho Madjozi, Prince Kaybee and Afrikaans band Spoegwolf have taken the Kirstenbosch stage. 

The 2020 concert series was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

JIMMY NEVIS TAKES KIRSTENBOSCH

Cape Town-born musician Jimmy Nevis blasted onto the music scene with his single Elephant Shoes in 2012. Nevis, who is celebrating his 10th anniversary in the music industry, took Mzansi by storm with his debut album Subliminal in 2013. 

Since then, Nevis released The Masses in 2014 and Chimera in 2018. 

Jimmy Nevis is set to perform at the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concert on Sunday 20 March.

JEREMY LOOPS SET TO PERFORM

Jeremy Loops released his debut album Trading Change in March 2014. The lead single Down South featuring rapper Motheo Moleko topped the 5FM, Jacaranda FM and 947 music charts. 

After releasing the deluxe version of Trading Change in 2015, the 37-year-old singer toured the United States. Loops also joined US rock band, Twenty One Pilots on the European leg of their tour. 

His second album Critical as Water was released in 2018 and featured Motheo Moleko. 

Jeremy Loops will be performing at the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concert on Sunday 27 March. He last performed at the concert series in 2018.

Tickets for Jimmy Nevis and Jeremy Loops’ performances are R220 for adults and R170 for youth (ages 6 to 21). 

Gates to the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens open at 16:00 and the concerts start at 17:30.
