The much-loved annual Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts are back with three exciting concerts to look forward to. British singer-songwriter Calum Scott, rock band The Waterboys and Grammy-nominated jazz icon Gregory Porter will be taking the Kirstenbosch stage.

ABOUT THE KIRSTENBOSCH SUMMER SUNSET CONCERT SERIES

The Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts are one of the most-attended open-air concerts in Cape Town.The concerts have been taking place on Sunday afternoons for more than two decades and it is a time for family and friends to bond over a picnic and some incredible music. 

 The likes of Jeremy Loops, Jimmy Nevis, Goodluck, Goldfish, Mi Casa, Matthew Mole, Sho Madjozi and the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra have all performed on the Kirstenbosch stage. 

The 2020 concert series was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but this year, it is back in full swing. 

CALUM SCOTT, THE WATERBOYS AND GREGORY PORTER TO TAKE THE STAGE

Singer-songwriter Calum Scott will be returning to South Africa for three shows in November. Scott is best known for his single Dancing On My Own. He will kick off his Mzansi tour at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on Wednesday 23 November. 

Folk-rock band The Waterboys, made up of Mike Scott, Steve Wickham, Ralph Salmins and Paul Brown, will be performing at the concert series on Friday 25 November. Some of their best-known songs include Fisherman’s Blues and Why Should I Love You

American jazz icon Gregory Porter will be serenading the audience Saturday 21 January 2023. Porter has been compared to the likes of Nat King Cole, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder.

Tickets to see Calum Scott and Gregory Porter are sold out. Luckily, tickets to see The Waterboys are still available for R595 each.
