Cape Town voted one of the Top 10 friendliest cities in the world

According to the Condé Nast 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards, Cape Town was crowned amongst the Top 10 friendliest cities in the world.

Cape Town takes a spot

The beautiful, award-winning city of Cape Town can now proudly boast a ranking as one of the Top 10 friendliest cities in the World by the international readers of Condé Nast Traveller.

The Reader’s Choice list of the “friendliest cities in the world” is compiled by the Conde Nast Traveller team, after taking in the votes cast by its’ readers who register online and vote.

Cape Town came in at number 10 on the list and this is what the publication has to say about this warm and welcoming city.

“Home to the glitzy V&A Waterfront, the imposing Table Mountain and the notorious Robben Island (which holds the prison where Nelson Mandela was held for 18 years) the port city of Cape Town in South Africa is bursting at the seams with things to do and see. And the residents here are an asset to their hometown, delivering efficient, friendly services in hotels and restaurants, as well as extending a warm welcome out and about.”

The Mother City also previously received this special Friendliest Cities title in 2019 say reports, and Enver Duminy, CEO of Cape Town Tourism, said that being named one of the friendliest cities in the world signifies yet another affirmation of the Mother City’s status as a truly world-class, inclusive travel destination.
