According to Voxweather forecaster Annette Botha, light snowfall was expected over the high-lying areas of these parts on Sunday:
On Wednesday, a stronger cold front is expected to make landfall bringing in icy cold sub-polar air.

Botha said these icy conditions could likely bring in snow and scattered showers.
“It is still too early to say how much snow will fall and where it will fall. An update will be given closer to the time.”

The Weather Hooligan Juandre Vorster said on Saturday that an upper-level ice-cold air mass is passing the edge of South Africa at 3000m.
The South African Weather Services (SAWS) issued a weather advisory for icy cold conditions.
It warned that some of the impacts could include difficult driving conditions in places due to icy conditions. Hikers initiates, homeless people, and vulnerable livestock are at risk.
“The public is advised to take necessary precautions and keep listening to latest updates.”
