Airbnb partners with Cape Town to attract digital nomads

According to Airbnb, the city of Cape Town is regarded as one of the world’s ideal spots for remote workers, and it has since entered into a new deal which aims to make it easier for remote-workers to live and work anywhere.

The accommodation-sharing service has announced a new partnership deal with 20 destinations around the world to make it easier for digital nomads to live and work anywhere. Some of these fabulous destinations include Bali, Lisbon, the Caribbean and our very own Cape Town.

According to Business Insider, the new initiative is an extension of Airbnb’s ‘live and work anywhere initiative’, which aims to identify some of the most remote-worker-friendly destinations in the world. The company also aims to support these country’s governments by helping to revive tourism and provide economic support to the communities.

Airbnb will reportedly work closely with Cape Town Tourism on a number of projects, including “building a dedicated custom-built hub for Cape Town that will showcase top local long-term stay listings as well as important information relating to entry requirements and visa policies to attract remote workers.”.

The vacation rental company will also partner with the Mother City on educational campaigns to promote responsible hosting and travelling as a remote worker. The Cape Town hub is expected to launch later this year.
