IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS:

Yellow Level2 Warning for Severe Thunderstorms with heavy downpours, large hail and damaging winds that could cause localized flooding of susceptible roads, low-lying areas, and bridges, as well as localized damages to property expected over the south-western parts of Limpopo, and the Mpumalanga Highveld, as well as over the central and eastern parts of North West and north-eastern parts of the Free State.

Temperature and UVB forecast

Gauteng:

Temperature: Cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Extreme.

Mpumalanga:

Temperature: Morning fog patches on the eastern Highveld and along the escarpment areas, otherwise cloudy and cool with scattered showers and thundershowers.

Limpopo:

Temperature: Morning fog patches along the escarpment areas, otherwise cloudy to partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the south.

North-West Province:

Temperature: Cloudy in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the north-east.

Free State:

Temperature: Cloudy with morning fog patches in the east, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers, except in the south.

Northern Cape:

Temperature: Fine in the central parts, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot with isolated showers and thundershowers in the north-east.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be Strong southerly.

Western Cape:

Temperature: Cloudy along the south coast at first, otherwise fine and cool to warm.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-easterly, but south-westerly along the south coast.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Very High.

Eastern Cape:

The Western half – Partly cloudy and cool, fine in places in the north.

The Western half -Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly

The Eastern half – Partly cloudy and cool, but cloudy with fog patches in places south of escarpment in the morning and evening.

The Eastern halfWind: The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly, becoming light southerly

Kwazulu-Natal:

Temperature: Cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the north-west.

Wind: The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-westerly at first, otherwise north-easterly.

The expected UVB Sunburn Index: Low
